Museum open on Sunday April 7th from 12 till 4pm – first day of new opening hours.

The Museum is responding to visitor requests for extended opening hours, especially on Sunday afternoons.

From Sunday 7th April, the Museum will open from 12 till 4pm each Sunday.

This will also coincide with the first weekend showing of our stunning collection of locally made peg dolls, which has been very kindly donated to the Museum by the family of their maker, the late Mrs Joan Fairgrieve of Bracebridge Heath.

This photograph shows Joan with just a few of the thousands of dolls she made in her lifetime.

Just to whet your appetite, here are a small selection of the dolls – do come in and see the many others which are in our display.
